Henry Adams, grandson of John Quincy Adams, was educated at Harvard and served as secretary to his father, Charles Francis Adams, when he was Minister to England. Frewen (1853-1924) was born in Sussex, England, and came to Wyoming Territory in 1878 on a hunting trip. He and his brother Richard soon afterwards formed the Big Horn Ranche Company and operated a cattle ranch in what is now northeastern Wyoming. In 1882 the company was dissolved after Moreton bought out Richard's share and reorganized the company as the Powder River Cattle Company, Ltd., with an English board of directors.
